April 10 & 12, 2009
More than 700 computers at the University of Utah are known to be
infected with the Conficker worm. Some of the infected computers are
at the university's three hospitals. A spokesman for the university's
health sciences department said that patient information has not been
compromised. Staff and students have received information about how to
remove the malware from their computers. Internet access was cut off
for several hours while IT staff worked to isolate the malware and
eliminate it.
